Palle Natural (NZ) - Volksraad x Proteacae
Hi Rebecca,
Just thought you might like a quick update on Pallae. We had our first comp yesterday, he went really well, my instructor would say I wasn't forward enough but I was still very happy with how he performed. We cam 10th from 22 riders. He is now starting to let down and get some muscle forming which is great. He is very lazy and gives me a good workout keeping him going.

Just another update on Palette Natural - we had our second competition on the weekend, we went so well. Last time we got 50, this time we did 2 tests and got 62 & 65 and got fourth place! The winning combination got 69 so we weren't far off - I'm one very happy mum!

Pallae is now all fluffy and not the happiest when I turn up at feed time now in the dark but he deals with it. We started doing some jumping to and got up to 70 cm - I'm stoked with that! We went to Hunter Valley Dressage at Rutherford and came 7th out of 19 riders. Will keep in touch. Belinda and Pallae

Dear Rebecca,
Your little Danehill horse is doing well in Spain, got a good book of mares and they are delighted with him. Philippe was in Madrid at weekend and spoke to buyers, just thought you'd like to know.

Our Clas (NZ) - Famous Star x Dresden Gold
Hi Rebecca,
It's Kate from Armidale, just thought I would let you know how Oscar is going. I haven't really been doing much with him lately due to work committments but he is enjoying playing 'wild brumbies' with our other horses.
I bought Oscar a friend, a little shetlan pony called Midi, I think they are in love! He met some chickens the other day but wasn't quite sure what to make of them, it was funny really.
I plan on starting him back into full work in the few weeks. I hope by the end of the year I can take him to a couple of local shows. He is very intelligent and willing to learn so I have confidence he will take it all in his stride. Will keep you posted.

Katie ... PS Oscar says Hi.

Dynamic Fun (USA) - Dynaformer x Irish Scarlet
Hi Rebecca,
Just dropping you a note to say how great 'Dynamic Fun' is going. After arriving in mid December he has settled in brilliantly and living a life of luxury. We had our first lesson last Thursday and he went fantastic. He has the best temperament and has not once worried about the trotters which is extremely unusual compared to other horses I have had from the track. Will tell you how he goes when we attempt our first competition.

Hi Bec,
Some exciting news! Dino had 2 show this weekend with fantastic results. So now with 3 shows under his belt he has definately adapted to his new career as a show horse.
At the summer Welsh Show he got Reserve Champion Led Hack and Reserve Champion Ridden Hack and took me to Champion Rider.
On Sunday at the Central West APSB Show he got CHAMPION Hack and took me to Reserve Champion Rider>
While his greeness and lack of extensions are still showing through after only 2 months as a show horse he is coming on in leaps and bounds and continues to impress all.
We are off to our first dressage comp this weekend.

Hi Bec,
Been meaning to drop you a line to brag about how good Dino is going. Since talking to you last he has won a few Champions and yes we have even collected a SUPREME CHAMPION !!!!!!!!
He placed in his led and open hack at Bathurst Royal and also went Champion Local Hack led and ridden.
He has really built up and is looking great and I'm sure he will get even better after a bit of a break as he has done so much in a short time.
When he comes back in we will head out west for a few shows out west to hopefully pick up enough performances for next years royals and then I will take him to EFA HOTY for Newcomers. Will let you know how we go.
I will recommend you horses anytime!
Regards, Maryann and Dino.
Hi Bec,
While Dino (Dynamic Fun) is having a break in the paddock i thought I would send you an update! Bathurst royal he picked up a 2nd in the open hunter and a 1st in the > bonus ring, and took me to 1st in my rider. We went to Sydney royal this year and although did not pick up a ribbon I was so proud of him. We were called in 2nd in the open hunter class but he got upset in the line up with all the clapping, must of thought it was time to race! (or maybe it was from me I was so
excited) so our workout was very tense. But to look at the positives he worked around the ring like a pro. We also went to EFA HOY and picked up a few places in all his classes.
As well as collecting champs at the ag shows and and rogressing really well with his dressage he has now gone for a well deserved break! Maryanne

Hi Rebecca,
Roy arrived safely at 2:30 am this morning in Bathurst, we had to go into town with the truck so we picked him up this afternoon. He is just as you described, very quiet like a puppy, he just went on the truck like the old timer he is.
My husband rode him at about 5pm and then my daughter Amanda rose him, he went super. He didn't put a foot wrong, a bit hard to get cantering at this stage but very willing to do anything. No buck or anything nasty just a great horse.
Thanks again I will keep you posted on his progress. He is very bold so Amanda thinks that she will event him, she is going to give him a little jump tomorrow.
Thanks. Anne-Maree

Frank has now been renamed 'Tyson' and he is going well. He has the best temperament, eats well and is easy to do anything with. He is still a little green but getting there as he doesn't mind learning new things and is easily trained. Will send some pics through soon.

Byron
Owned by Corrine & Nadine Finney of Singleton NSW Byron is taking to his new life with ease having placed 2nd at his first dressage test recently. We look forward to hearing of many more successes coming their way.
Hi Rebecca,
Tom went well at his first one day event, he was a little tense dressage (to be expected), I think because he was stabled the Friday night down at the venue and he probably thought he was going to the races like in Hong Kong! We had one stop xc and got time aswell, but I wanted to take him slow and give him a nice ride. He jumped all the jumps super and handled the weekend very well, it was a big event.
I have another event in two weeks, so hopefully he relaxes a little more, and starts to get the hang of things.

Leesa
Just had Avenal horse trials on the weekend, and Tom was a very good pony. Still trying to work out the best warm up for him, think I worked him for too long this time before the dressage, as he warmed up well but 10mins before I went to do test he started to get a bit cranky and was resistant in test. He redeemed himself for show jumping, and had a lovely clear round. On the Sunday, he warmed up perfect and went super cross country, he had a little spook at one of the banks, not sure if they considered it to be a stop as he propped but them went forward. (Didn’t stay for results to be posted as it was getting way too late). A friend of mine said a lot of people had been commenting on the chestnut horse with the short tail, after his show jumping round, he just gets so much air and is so careful over the fences.
He was very good overnight in the yard and kept poking his head through my float window to see what I was doing and would whinny every time he would see me, he talks so much!
Hope you are well.
Leesa

We haven’t done too much I ‘ve been so busy with work but I finally got my butt into gear and got to a show this weekend. Not bad considering I only rode him 3 time before the show. This was only in the unofficial ring but we still had some stiff competition.
Cheers Bel XO

Smiley
Hi Bec, just thought I'd send you a couple of pics of Smiley taken this morning in the arena at home. I am working sundays until end of November so I will hopefully take him to a dressage comp in December. He is starting to come on well now. I had quite a lot of trouble getting him to go forward. He just didn't seem to get it but now it seems to have sunk in that legs on mean go forward. Dah!!! We just love him. He is a real character. I took him two weeks ago to Terrey Hills for an overnight stay with a friend. We went out trail riding in the National Park and it was just fantastic. I grew up in that area and really miss riding in the park.
We cantered along a lovely sandy track for ages. He was as calm as a cucumber and cantered along behind my friends horse on a loose rein. No-one could believe how well mannered he is. (or how beautiful). I have been having a few lessons with a few different people and take him to a friends place to ride about once a fortnight so he is getting out and about but just not to a comp yet. (Bloody work gets in the way). I was able to just get straight back on him after 5 weeks off when I was away in Beijing. He is really brillant and his slightly grumpy personality has us laughing. He is like he is saying "Don't you dare put that rug on me, Oh, you just did. Well pat me then. Go on. Go on pat me." Hope all is well with you. Cheers Bronny

Hi Bec
We are just back from a weekend at Cabarita Beach - Sweeny (whose show name will now be Zero Degree's to tie in with the Danzero) was just so cool! He wasnt at all sure about the waves lapping over his legs so Jemma didnt take him in too deep but he didnt put a foot wrong and Jem ended up cantering along the beach bareback with him on a loose rein and a grin from ear to ear! Couldnt have asked for more. What a lovely chap he is.
Have a great Christmas

Hi Bec, February 2010
I thought you would like to know that we took Connor out with us to Blacktown Ag Show today. We just took him with us for a look around. He was very well behaved. As you know we have not taught him to lunge yet as he is so quiet. Annabel got on him not long after we arrived. He was a little “jig Joggy” at the start but within ten minutes he was trotting around like he had been doing it for years. A horse got loose and came in running around them, all Annie had to do was turn him in circles. It was a very big show , lots of Atmosphere. We left him tied to the float for the rest of the day. He only dug one hole and was only a little worried when we took his paddock mate away. Buy the time we got back to the float he was well and truly settled.
I have attached some photos for you. He still has to put a stack of muscle on and weight. We will take our time with him and hopefully he will be looking his best in time for the new comers later in the year.
All the best
Lesley and Annabel Westerhof
